Supportive Care

Our supportive care initiative addresses the psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones in tandem with a patient’s clinical treatment. Focusing on the whole person, an interdisciplinary team provides resources that connect patients and their families to a broad network of services. This approach helps to prevent the collateral damage that fear, grief, or lack of information can have on those facing critical illness and trauma.

With the creation of The Sheri and Les Biller Patient and Family Resource Center at City of Hope, the Foundation helped to build an acclaimed model for supportive care. While our efforts are primarily focused on those dealing with cancer treatment, our ultimate goal is to advocate for supportive care as a means to alleviate all life-threatening health issues.
