Opening doors to meaningful careers

We connect young adults from low-income communities to employers in banking and healthcare to create access to lasting careers that help people, communities, and employers succeed.

We offer free, eight-week career training programs—with placement assistance and ongoing coaching—to provide the support young adults need for not only getting the job, but advancing in a career.

We work in communities where underemployment is prevalent, opportunities are lacking, and employers need support to identify talented, diverse hires.

BankWork$® Celebrates Endorsement by Texas Bankers Association, Partnership to Help Expand BankWork$ Across Texas

BankWork$ is celebrating the endorsement by the Texas Bankers Association and its partnership to help expand the program across Texas in the coming years. The Texas Bankers Foundation, the charitable arm of the Texas Bankers Association, has also committed $5,000 to Dallas College’s BankWork$ program, to support the program’s expansion to its Richland campus in Fall 2021.

Our programs create career opportunities

We connect candidates who have the attitude and aptitude for success but lack opportunities with employers who are looking for their talent.

BankWork$® started in Los Angeles in 2006 in partnership with JVS SoCal with one class, a few bank partners, and 10 graduates. Since then, our program has expanded to include more than 80 banks, 13 cities, and has helped launch over 3,600+ careers in banking.

Our free training program provides the skills needed for career-growth positions like teller, customer service representative, relationship banker, and personal banker.

CareerWork$ Medical

CareerWork$ Medical® launched in Seattle in 2017 and has helped more than 150 program graduates begin their healthcare careers. The program expanded to Portland, OR and Los Angeles in the fall of 2019.

Over eight weeks, young adults prepare for non-clinical roles that can launch careers in healthcare, such as customer service representative, patient service coordinator, family support specialist, and medical insurance biller.

CareerWork$® Ready is our free job readiness program that provides community organizations with curricula to offer virtual or in-person training for job seekers in underserved communities.

CareerWork$® Ready focuses on hard skills, such as resume writing and interview practice, as well as the soft skills needed to land and keep a job. Job coaches support students through the process step by step.

Our model accelerates success

Our unique model, used for both BankWork$ and CareerWork$ Medical, teaches career-building, hard skills for on-the-job success in banking and healthcare, and the soft skills needed to succeed as a professional anywhere.

Our comprehensive training takes only eight weeks
Unlike other programs that take a year to complete, our curriculum is covered in eight weeks and was co-developed by employers and community-based organizations to ensure success. We engage prospective employers throughout the program to provide industry insight and integrated recruitment opportunities.

Participants train for success in banking, healthcare, and beyond
Young adults learn how to create a positive impression and build relationships with clients and co-workers, problem-solve, speak confidently in front of a group, interview successfully—even give and take constructive feedback. They are also guided to identify and apply transferable customer-facing skills from past employment to future careers.

Every graduate has an opportunity to interview with our industry partners
At each graduation, participants interview for open positions with industry partners. They receive far more personal attention than they might during a standard job fair or online application process. They graduate prepared for their first day on the job, with the confidence that they can and will succeed, and are supported through mentorship as they grow in their new career.
