The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation Announces Ten Recipients of Its Annual Social Impact Theatre Grant Program

The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation announced today ten new recipients of its annual Social Impact Theatre Grant Program, which provides production support for theatres in Western states igniting positive changes in their communities through the programming they bring to life on stage, and innovating how they engage their audiences around the important issues of our day.

“Live theatre has the power to spark dialogue, bring different viewpoints together, and to be a catalyst for exploring the critical issues we face today,” said Foundation President Sheri Biller. “The productions receiving awards this year will undoubtedly inspire important conversations that audience members will continue at home and in their communities. We are proud to support these organizations that are intentional and innovative in how they engage their audiences.”

“The Foundation learned so much from this year’s applicants,” said Foundation CEO Audrey Haberman. “Whether funded or not, we are grateful and appreciative to hear from so many theatres about the important issues they are addressing on stage.”

This year’s grantees will stage productions that explore a wide spectrum of contemporary issues, ranging from racism and civic engagement to LGBTQ+ rights and neurodiversity. These productions were also selected for their commitment to bringing different viewpoints together on challenging subjects, reaching new audiences, and partnering with organizations, community members, and subject matter experts to help amplify their production’s impact.
