SEATTLE – The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation today launches its first cycle of theatre grants for 2017. This cycle will significantly broaden the Foundation’s impact on American theatre: any organization located in Alaska, California, Oregon, or Washington that meets the eligibility requirements can apply. The Theatre Enrichment grant program provides production-specific support for musicals or plays that tackle social issues in an innovative, inspiring, and educational manner.
“The initiative’s expanded geographic reach will allow us to forge new partnerships with organizations that present dynamic, challenging productions,” notes Sheri Biller, President. “We are thrilled to build on the program’s past success by continuing to support work that addresses critical, relevant social issues and that sparks conversations within our communities.”
The Biller Family Foundation’s Theatre Enrichment grant program supports organizations with 501(c)(3) status, at least two years of operating history, and annual revenue of at least $750,000. Grant funds can cover artistic, production, and overhead expenses for one production occurring between July 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018. Theatre Enrichment grant opportunities are offered in two cycles each year; organizations may apply in both cycles. Organizations cannot receive more than one grant per calendar year, nor can they apply while in an active funding relationship with the Foundation.
This announcement coincides with the release of an initial application, which is due on February 17, 2017. Interested organizations can join the Foundation for an information session on February 1, 2017. Applications and additional details can be accessed here.
