The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation Now Accepting Applications for the Fall 2017 Theatre Enrichment Grant Program

Fully focused on supporting social impact theatre, The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation today launches its second cycle of theatre grants for 2017. Sheri Biller, Foundation President, explains, “The Foundation supports socially-relevant theatre productions because we believe theatre is perfectly positioned to wrestle with the critical issues of contemporary society. We know impactful theatre sparks conversations that audience members continue at home and in their communities. This is how social change begins.”

With this in mind, the Foundation just last grant cycle broadened the theatre enrichment grant program’s geographic area: any organization located in Alaska, California, Oregon, or Washington that meets the eligibility requirements can apply. The program provides production-specific support for musicals or plays that tackle social issues in an innovative, inspiring, and educational manner.

The program supports organizations with 501(c)(3) status, at least two years of operating history, and annual revenue of at least $750,000. Grant funds can cover artistic, production, and overhead expenses for one production occurring between December 1, 2017 and November 30, 2018.

This announcement coincides with the release of the initial application, which is due on August 4, 2017. Interested organizations can join the Foundation for an information session on July 25, 2017. Applications and additional details can be accessed at www.billerfamilyfoundation.org.
