Our partner Southeast Seattle Education Coalition (SESEC) was Seattle Public Schools’ nominee for the 2016 Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) Community Recognition Award. SESEC serves a vital role in the Seattle community by uniting various community-based organizations, schools, educators, parents, community leaders, and many others around a common goal of equity and access for all students, especially those in southeast Seattle. Erin Okuno, SESEC’s Executive Director, has done a remarkable job of leading the community and serving families and students. We are proud to see her leadership and SESEC’s work honored by the district and WASA.
