How We Work

At the Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation, we practice active philanthropy, aligning with grantees, nonprofits, and philanthropic partners to generate open dialogues, develop models, and replicate successful solutions. We support outstanding leaders with bold ideas and explore innovative approaches that can be tried locally and, if successful, implemented nationally.

  • CareerWork$®: We connect young adults from low-income communities to employers in banking and healthcare to create access to lasting careers that help people, employers, and communities succeed.
  • Public Education: We support and partner with strong leaders and innovative programs that prepare students to graduate career ready, within the public and career technical education system.
  • Social Impact Theatre: We support contemporary theatrical productions in Western states that explore relevant social issues, spark dialogue around differing views, and begin the process of healing.
  • Supportive Care: We address the psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones in tandem with each patient’s clinical treatment. Our deepest partnership is with City of Hope, based in Duarte, California.

Our Mission

We champion bold solutions in public education, supportive care, theatre, and workforce development that provide opportunities for sustainable, positive, and equitable change.

Our Vision

We envision a time when everyone–no matter their income, race, or circumstance–will have the access, support, and opportunity they need to lead healthy, prosperous, and productive lives.

Guiding Values

Optimism

We are optimistic because we believe in the power of individuals to transform their lives and communities in positive ways.

Collaboration

We collaborate with others because when we all work together for the greater good, the outcomes are stronger, and the impact ripples.

Opportunity

We believe in taking a chance on good ideas–to try something and even fail–as this is often the best way to learn and create opportunity for those in need.

Empowerment

We empower individuals to become self-reliant change agents and build momentum for others, working for stronger communities where everyone thrives.
